Mr. Travis is the first chief executive officer of The Cyber AB and assumed this role in April 2021. In this capacity, he oversees all CMMC accreditation and CMMC Ecosystem operations of the organization in support of the Department of Defense.
Previously, Travis served as the first deputy director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the nation’s leading civilian cybersecurity agency. There he oversaw the day-to-day operations of then the $2+ billion, 2000+ employee organization across the full range of its mission in cybersecurity, infrastructure protections, and emergency communications. Prior to this position, he was the deputy undersecretary for national protection (NPPD) within the Department of Homeland Security. For his contributions to the DHS mission, he was awarded the Department’s Outstanding Service Medal in 2020.
Before entering government service in 2018, Travis served as vice president of homeland security for Cadmus, a security, energy, and environmental professional services firm. He joined Cadmus when the security consultancy he co-founded, Obsidian Analysis, Inc., was acquired by Cadmus in 2016.
A former naval officer, Travis served as an engineering auxiliaries officer aboard the guided-missile frigate U.S.S. CARR (FFG 52). He then served a tour as White House Liaison to the Secretary of the Navy and was also a White House Military Aide. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a master’s in national security studies from Georgetown University.
Mr. Travis serves as a trustee of the CNA Corporation, the parent organization of the Center for Naval Analyses, a federally funded research and development corporation (FFRDC). He has appeared on both CNN and MSNBC offering cybersecurity and homeland security perspectives.
In direct support of the CEO and the Cyber AB mission, Raymond Karrenbauer is responsible for the management of the organization’s compliance, financials, human resources, information technology, legal, and business operations. Mr. Karrenbauer has led oversight of corporate positioning numerous times. He has extensive experience and knowledge of foreign business practices and has managed multi-national relationships. He joined the Cyber AB in August 2021 from IFG Companies, where he was the SVP and Chief Information Officer (CIO) responsible for their digital transformation and core operations. Prior to this position, he worked at Axis Capital as their EVP and Chief Information Officer. Before that, at ING Group N.V. where he was Group Chief of Architecture and previously served as Chief Technology Officer for ING Americas, Chief Technology Officer of Cyberian Outpost, and Vice President of Meta Group (acquired by Gartner Group).
He has an extraordinary ability to dive deep on a wide range of core business subjects. Thus, he has been instrumental in resolving urgent operational issues including the implementation of effective turnarounds, major organizational transitions and planned rapid expansions. As such, he was inducted into the CIO Executive Council's CIO Hall of Fame in 2018, named among Computerworld's “Premiere 100 IT Leaders”, selected as one of "The 25 Most Influential CTOs" by InfoWorld and received a Laureate Award from the Smithsonian Institution. Mr. Karrenbauer has been a keynote speaker at over a dozen industry conferences on information technology and management.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida and a Masters in Business Administration from Cornell University. He additionally holds certifications by ISACA, Carnegie-Mellon, and the prestigious Order of the Engineer.
Kyle Gingrich leads the creation and build-out of training and certification programs to enable the CMMC framework. The programs are focused on ensuring availability of validated, skilled assessors and assessment instructors in the CMMC ecosystem, who can certify that DIB companies meet necessary cybersecurity requirements.
Ms. Gingrich is a highly resourceful product executive with 20+ years of experience in delivering impactful results for bridging the gap between employers and individuals, through training and certification initiatives or by delivering innovating technology solutions. Prior to joining the Cyber AB, Ms. Gingrich was Senior Director of Products at leading global employment service provider Monster Worldwide, where she was responsible for the strategic vision, planning and delivery of Monster’s $90M portfolio of employer search products. Her tenure at Monster also included responsibility for the strategic vision and creation of software products and services for State and Local government agencies.
Prior to Monster, she served as Vice President Product, IT and Certification Content and Delivery Technology for top eLearning training solutions provider Skillsoft, where she was responsible for the overall strategy, marketing and delivery of Skillsoft’s $100M IT content and solutions portfolio. She also previously served as Vice President of Learning Innovation at CYPHERPATH, a provider of cybersecurity training and technology solutions. Earlier in her career, she was Senior Director of Products and Services for global trade association CompTIA, where she was responsible for the creation and maintenance of all of CompTIA’s international certification programs and the creation of the CompTIA continuing education program.
Ms. Gingrich holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Human Resource and Organizational Management from Loyola University, and is Pragmatic Marketing Certified – Level II. She also serves as Chair of the Academic Advisory Council for the Cyber AB.
Jon brings to the Cyber AB two decades of experience in information security, risk management, governance and compliance. He has built information security and IT risk management programs from their inception, fostering “security mindset” culture shifts across all levels of organizations in the legal, financial services and higher education sectors. He has compiled a proven track record in developing programs to align and comply with major frameworks and regulations from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
At the Cyber AB, Jon oversees all operations and information security functions. He is responsible for processing Certified 3rd Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) and suitability determination applications. In addition, he works directly with the DoD and the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC) on C3PAO CMMC L3 assessments.
Previously, Jon served as Director of Information Security and Assurance for the Washington, D.C.-based financial services industry law firm, Buckley LLP, where he led the development and continuing improvement of information security, vendor risk management and security incident response programs. He also served as Associate Director of Information Security at Charlottesville, Va.-based SNL Financial LP, where he introduced, developed and implemented an information security program leveraging the ISO 27001 control framework. In addition, he created, implemented and managed an application security program based upon NIST and FISMA standards and frameworks for George Washington University in Ashburn.
Jon holds numerous security certifications, including Certified CISO (CCISO), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).
